Bonaire.  Divers paradise.  Shore diving capital of the world.  If diving is your thing then maybe you’ve already looked at our Dive Guide and blog posts.  Not into diving?  Want to do other things?  Well it’s a good thing you found our Bonaire Guide then.

Bonaire is not just about diving.  While yes, a lot of tourism is dive industry related, the hotels on Bonaire reportthat  half of their guests are not divers and then we also have these enormous cruise ships visiting too.

Here’s our run down of our favorite things to do while on Bonaire, diver or not.

Diving Bonaire has great diving…but you know this already Dive Guide
Snorkeling All the beautiful water is not just for the benefit of certified divers.  Bonaire boasts some of the world best snorkel sites too.  Oh and there are caves in Bonaire, with water in them.  You can snorkel in some of the caves too.  How unique! Flow
Kitesurfing A proportion of tourists visiting Bonaire do so for the wind and the kite surfing opportunities that brings.  Why not give it a go?
Windsurfing It’s one of the main attractions in Lac bay.  Oh yes, it is!
Freediving FreeDiving is a fast growing popular alternative to Scuba.  If you want to learn about freediving you might be interested in visiting Bonaire because we have the worlds best FreeDivers here and they run a world class operation. Deep Sea Bonaire
Donkey Sanctuary One of the most popular attractions in Bonaire.  The Donkey are cute.  Take a scenic drive through the sanctuary and see See our video here
Goat Farm Visit the Aletta’s Semper Kontentu Goat Farm.  Meet Ben and pet other goats.  Hopefully Aletta will make the highly sought after cheese once again soon. Semper Kontentu
Beach Bonaire has some wonderful scenic and varied beaches to suit all tastes.
Parrots See Bonaire’s beautiful Parrots…we’ve seen them in the gardens at AquaVilla and you will see them about the island.  But there is also an eco-tour. Echo Parrots and People
National Park Drive Washington Slagbaai National Park.  Go early enough to do the full or short drives.  See the scenery, the wildlife and take a picnic for the remote beaches. Washington Slagbaai National Park
Go Caving Bonaire is home to 500 caves, many of which are not mapped.  You can Snorkel in some of them.
Cadushy Distillery Have you ever drank Cactus?  Learn about how Cadushy Distillery makes their wonderful liquors.  Have a shot…but don’t drink and drive.  You can buy it to take home.
 Food  There are many many great restaurants on Bonaire.
Shopping The arrival of cruise ships will see many of Bonaire’s vendors set up in the square.  When the cruise ships are not docked, downtown Kralendijk has many lovely stores to browse on the charming main street.
Kayaking  You can rent an Ocean Kayak and explore Bonaire’s beautiful oceanfront and beaches.  There is also the mangrove center.
Boating  Don’t forget there is a boat dock right in front of AquaVilla. Bonaire Boat Rental
Birding Bonaire is famous for its Pink Flamingo birds and it’s Parrot.
History/Culture Visit the Slave Huts and learn about Bonaire’s important history
Hiking Plenty of Hiking opportunities, especially in the national park.  Take water…Bonaire’s Hiking is ‘remote’ and bear in mind a tour operator/guide is going to get you to the most rewarding hikes, quicker.
Biking Rent a motorcycle. Motorcycle Shop Bonaire
Cycling Plenty of road opportunities, sport as well as touring and sight-seeing.  There are also mountain biking opportunities.
Climb or Rappel  There are places to climb.  There are places to abseil. Outdoor Bonaire
 Horse Riding The nice thing about Horse Riding in Bonaire is that you can enjoy the unique experience of riding a horse in the water!
Golf It’s a sport you may have heard of. Piedraso
Sailing Plenty of options, plain sailing, snorkelling and dinner cruises, etc. Compass Sailing
Fishing While the Marine Sanctuary is protected there are operators to serve your fishing needs.
Spa  Many of the hotels offer day spa services and massage.

No, we’re not suggesting you come to Bonaire to watch youtube (although you can do that from AquaVilla if you wish) but as we experience many of the above adventures we are starting to document them from our Youtube channel.
