Booking

Q: How do I book?

Q: Do you do short/mid/long term rentals?

A: You can rent the villa for days, weeks and/or months.  Long term rentals of greater than 6 months can be discussed, please inquire.

 

Q: What is included in the costs?

A: Short-term rentals include accommodation and utilities with up to $15 per day electricity.  Mid and long term rental quotes do not include utility costs – the meters are read at the start and ends of your stay and you are charged for what you have used upon departure.

 

Q: What was that about electricity?

A: Bonaire is very energy aware/green and electricity tends to be expensive as a result and we ask you to conserve energy for the other islanders/planet anyway.  For short term rentals the price includes up to $15 of electricity daily, which is more than reasonable for average use.  There is a surcharge beyond that.  We ask that you turn off the air conditioning when you leave rooms and/or the villa.  You’ll find the air conditioning very efficient so upon your return the rooms are quickly cooled by the individual units.

This does not apply to mid and long term rentals, where you pay for the utilities as they are metered.  These are billed upon departure.

 

Accommodation

Q: How many does it sleep?

A: 2 to 6

 

Q: Is it suitable for 2 people?

A: Yes.  While the villa is 3 bedrooms and can accommodate quite easily six people, the master suite accommodates two people.  Enjoy the 3rd room for your baggage and the 2nd room for whoever snores.

 

Q: What are the sleeping arrangements for six people?

A: The master suite sleeps two in a queen bed.  Bedroom 2 sleeps 2 in twin beds, which can be together or apart, or also made up as a king bed.  Bedroom 3 sleeps 2 on a sofa bed (queen).

 

Q: Are the beds made daily?  How often is the villa cleaned/services?

A: Unlike a hotel there is no daily service.  The villa is cleaned before your arrival and after your departure.  Extra service, daily, weekly or whatever you need can be provided for an extra fee.

 

Q: Can I get the beds made and the villa cleaned/services daily?

A: Yes.  Please ask for this when booking and we will provide a quote for those services.

 

Q: Does it have air conditioning?

A: Each room has it’s own individual air conditioning unit.  There are also fans, ceiling and floor.

 

Q: Will I be able to sleep with the window open without pestered by mosquito’s

A: The windows have mosquito screens.  Optionally you can also hang the mosquito nets up.

 

Transport

Q: Do I need a car?

A: Yes.  Actually you don’t _need_ a car, but it is so strongly recommended we suggest so.  We would recommend it for all vacations on Bonaire, no matter where you are staying and in particular if you are shore diving.

 

Q: How far is it from the beach?

A: It’s a short walk to the beach, less than half a mile.  It’s the best beach on Bonaire too.

Q: How far is the nearest dive site?

A: You can dive/snorklel on the nearest beach which is less than half a mile.

 

Q: Is there a dive shop nearby?

A: Yes, there is a dive shop providing rental gear about 1/4 of a mile from Waterlands Village.  There are lots of dive shops in the area.
