This is a general guide to help you during your stay.  You may find that the FAQ’s, Bonaire and Dive Guides also contain useful information.

Air Conditioning

There is air conditioning in every room.  Electricity is expensive on Bonaire so please turn the air conditioning off in empty rooms and when you leave the villa.  Up to $15 of electricity usage per day is included in the cost of your stay.  If this amount is exceeded the difference will be charged.

Arrival

Check-in is from 2pm.  Within office hours then providing the time of your arrival is known then someone will be present to greet you.  Knock on the window to the right of the gate.  For out of hours, arrangements will be made to meet you at the resort or airport with your key.  Transfer can be arranged too but is not complementary.

Check-in/out

Check-in is 2pm.  Check out is 12 noon.  Early/late checkout are available upon request providing that no other reservation is standing.  There is no cost for this benefit.

Cleaning

• A one time cleaning charge of $65 to $150 (unless stated differently) depending on situation is applicable per stay.
• Interim/daily cleaning is available on request for a fee.

Currency

The official currency on Bonaire is US dollar.

Electricity

127 volt, 50 cycles. Most U.S. appliances will work, but will run hotter. Sensitive items not listed for 50 cycles should be plugged into a transformer or protected circuit.

Safe

There is a safe provided in the villa.

Safety/Crime

Bonaire is a safe place, but like anywhere use sound judgment.  If something doesn’t feel right, it probably isn’t.  Like anywhere, Bonaire does have petty crime and this is for the most part undertaken by opportunists.  Don’t create opportunities.

• Stay at AquaVilla…it’s a in a private, gated community.
• Use the safe.
• Lock the windows/doors when you leave the villa and hide valuables.
• Don’t leave valuables in your vehicle.
• If you are a diver then follow the instructions given to you by your rental car company when shore diving.  Some will prefer or request you leave the car unlocked.

The management/owners are not responsible for items lost or stolen during your stay.

Occupancy is subject to tourist tax $6.50 per person per night.

• Calling from the US, dial 011 and then the country code of 599.  For example, the Hospital above would be 011 599 717 8900
• Calling the US from Bonaire dial 001 first.
• There is a cell phone network but coverage will depend on your carrier and may need to be unlocked prior to leaving the US.

Towels

Beach and bath towels are provided for every guest.

Transfer

Transfer to and from the airport can be arranged but is not complementary.

TV – Bedroom 2

To turn on the TV push the button on the front, or use the ‘Amino’ remote (which may be in the lounge) and press ‘TV’ and then the red power button.

On the ‘Amino’ remote press ‘STB’ then the power to turn on the set top box.  Change channels using this remote.

TV – Lounge

Use the LG remote to switch it on.

On the ‘Amino’ remote press ‘STB’ then the power to turn on the set top box.  Change channels using this remote.

Make sure to select the ‘Component’ input source using the LG remote.

We apologize for their being one remote to change channels in two rooms and a missing TV remote for the lounge.  It appears remotes were missing when we acquired AquaVilla and this is something we will be resolving very soon by providing two new programmable remotes.  We are eventually intending to replace the TV’s too.

Wifi in the villa is free!
